Yakose takes its name from an ancient form of twill weaving used for imperial and Buddhist clothing.
Koichi Ishiguro, a renowned architect from Hokkaido, used aya weaving as inspiration, harmoniously intertwining the design of the building with the surrounding nature.
Interlocking weaving decoration and design themes can be seen throughout the building.
