This villa can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 double bedrooms. This is a stunning, award winning property with panoramic views over paddy fields. The villa sits on a 2 acre property surrounded by tropical trees and gardens. Built in contemporary Asian style with Balinese influences, the holiday villa is a tasteful combination of open airy spaces, elegant furniture and splashes of colour. Utterly private, the villa is located on a quiet hill side just outside Calangute. Yet it is within easy reach of some of Goa’s best restaurants, cafes, shopping and of course the beaches of Baga, Calangute and Candolim. Assagao known for its many yoga centres, cafes and restaurants is approx. a 15-minute drive from the villa. The villa owners are keen bird watchers and the green cover of trees, gardens and plants have been selected to attract Goa’s rich bird life. The landscaped gardens lead to an infinity pool (14m x 7m, max depth 4.5 feet) offering fabulous views. It is perfect for serious swimmers. In-built stone seats are better suited for those happy to just paddle and dip. Around the pool is a wide stone deck with lovely teak wood pool beds (with side tables), perfect for sun bathers. Down a short flight of stairs is the changing room and shower. To one side of the pool is an elevated wooden pavilion, ideal for sundowners. The entire villa and grounds are done to a very high level of sophistication and elegance. High-quality furniture and artefacts have been specifically selected to enhance the breezy feel of the villa. The three en-suite bedrooms are spacious and generous in size with a four-poster bed, private garden and large bathrooms. Each suite is differentiated by thoughtfully selected artefacts. Framed water colours of the birds of Goa decorate the walls.
Just outside one of the bedrooms is a koi pond. A stone egg bubbles gently imparting a soothing ambience. Set a little apart, is a manmade miniature stone waterfall. In-built stone seats make this a lovely place for a cool splash on a hot summer’s day. The spacious sitting room with its high ceiling and large wooden and glass doors and windows is open to cool breezes and natural light. A colourful phulkari tapestry and small wall niches holding wooden carvings add an eclectic touch. The open space design includes a dining area. The owners’ love of books is visible in the in-house library as well as the special bibliochaise that sits solitary by the large glass windows. The glass doors lead outside to a wide skirting verandah. On one side, the verandah doubles up as an al fresco dining space perfect for breakfast and home cooked dinners. An organic garden supplies many of the herbs and vegetables that make their way on to the villa’s in-house menu. The private villa has been nominated for the ‘World Boutique Hotel Awards’.
